I got love for the west coast. Why? Well… I'm originally from LA and one of these days I'll end up back there. And yes I know west coast rap has been off the map for the most part since the days of NWA, Dre, Cube, the glory days of Death Row and gangster rap. It's never too late for a revival. You got Snoop and Game leading the charge and even the whole ridiculous hyphy movement going on in the bay area. You know they were real bored and high when that started. It probably went something like this…
"It's Friday… we ain't got no job… we ain't got shit to DO! Oh *I* know. We'll drive our cars real slow and hang out the windows/doors/roof/trunk/hood for good measure. Oh oh… and THEN we'll do donuts and other crazy car tricks in the middle of intersections and people will be forced to gather around and watch us. Oh yeah… and don't forget the alcohol, weed, E, cough syrup, and energy drink. We might be thirsty after all that."
Now that I've alienated the whole Bay Area… (I hate the Giants anyways. Fuck you. LA all day.) check out some music from up and down the w/best coast.
Daz & Rick Ross – On Some Real Shit (On some real shit… I gotta be the best… I gotta stay fresh… I represent the WEST. Plus the beat is ridiculous. Enough said.)
Tha Dogg Pound – Sittin on 23z (Produced by Swizz Beats. The Dogg Pound is back baby.)
E40 – Yay Area (Produced by Rick Rock. Apparently he pushes pies like Marie Callender.)
E40 & T-Pain & Kandi – U and Dat (A cross between Usher – Yeah and Cassie – Me and U. Check it.)
Roscoe – Summertime Again (Perfect summer chill song for Cali folks. Smoooooooth. Wessssside.)
Roscoe – Fuck Buddy (Remember Notorious BIG & R Kelly – Fucking You Tonight? Yeah it's kinda like THAT. Romantic I know. Ladies are going to love this one. I can tell already…)
Mr. Capone-E - Untitled (Gotta show love for the latinos. This is gangsta. Reminds me a bit of Pac.)
Mr. Capone-E & Twista – Don't Get It Twisted (The midwest/west coast connection. Think slow jam.)
Jagged Edge & JD - Stunnas (I know what you're thinking. "Why Jagged Edge and JD? They're from the ATL you dumbfuck." I guess this is west coast related as they're talking about stunna shades. Where are YOUR stunna shades?)
Smitty & Jae Millz – Ghetto Boy (This samples from Lil Ghetto Boy off the classic Chronic album. Jae Millz shines on this track.)

Swagger is very important to a rapper's image. Even if all that bling is fake, cars borrowed, house rented, women hired… as long as you act like you belong, people will fall hook line and sinker. If you're going to make a song proclaiming that you're the best, fresh to def, or whatever… you better have that presence… that confidence… on the border of pure arrogance. Gotta love it. I got that swagger too. At least I think I do when I'm drunk on a Friday night. Gotta love that too.
Check out these new tracks with that swagger:
Clipse & Pharrell – Mr. Me Too (Produced by the Neptunes. One word, one syllable, sick.)
Cory Gunz – Mr. Fresh (The latest effort from the son of Peter Gunz [remember Deja Vu? Uptown baby!] Fressssh.)
DJ Khaled & Fat Joe – We Getting Money (Just Blaze perhaps?)
Brooke Hogan & Paul Wall – About Us (That's right… it's Hulk Hogan's daughter. She's actually got a decent voice. The beat is FIRE and Paul Wall shines once again. Not a joke.)

Kanye is EVERYWHERE. Well, he's BEEN everywhere. Every time I think he's on the verge of overexposure and stretching himself too thin on all his projects, he comes back with some crazy rhymes/beats that makes me bob my head, laugh at his cleverness, and secretly hate him for being so damn creative. Let's make it clear though… I don't co-sign everything that he does. The "Impossible" track for the MI-3 movie… so lackluster I won't even bother posting it here.
Here are a few new/recent Kanye related tracks worth listening to:
Pharrell & Kanye – Number One (First single… well second if you count "Can I Have It Like That"… well third if you count "Angel"… off his new album 'In My Mind' slating to drop the end of July.)
Neyo & Kanye & Ghostface – Back Like That (Remix) (Sick remix… makes me want to "order the Kobe beef like Shaquille O'Neal".. for real)
Smitty & Kanye, John Legend, Scarface – Ghetto (Smitty is one of my favorite up and coming rappers… Mr. Diamonds On My Neck. Kanye and Scarface are classic… and John Legend is at his best… in the background. Heh. Produced by Kanye.)
Nick Cannon & Slim of 112 – My Wife (Produced by Kanye. 112 being one of my favorite groups of ALL TIME, I had to post this up. This is likely to be Nick's second single following "Dime Piece.")
Fonzworth Bentley – Laid Back (Produced by Kanye. Interesting… and by interesting I mean trash. Lupe Fiasco could've used this beat. Thanks Mr. P Diddy Butler for singlehandedly ruining music.)
Curious as to where Kanye got his samples for his records? Pick up the following CD and find out.

Kanye West – Gold Digging

Hello friends and friends of friends… and perhaps the 2 or 3 strangers that stumbled onto this site searching for "ear sex".
Check out the About section to see who I am and what this shindig is about. There is no set format and I will likely bounce all over the place with the selection of music and commentary/stupid jokes that I'll provide. Feel free to comment on what you like and don't like. It doesn't mean I'll change anything, but at least I'll know there's people reading… and more importantly… downloading.
May this be a beautiful beginning to a long lasting relationship between "Me and U" (the readers.)
Speaking of "Me and U", Cassie's monster hit invading the club/radio like no other… I have a confession to make. I heard that song for the first time 2 months ago and thought it was complete trash. The beat was simple and hollow sounding, lacked energy, and blahblahblah badbadbad. Being the "music authority" that I am, I proceeded to yap about my hatred for the song to anybody who liked the song and was willing to listen. Fast forward 3 weeks and BAM. The song grew on me and suddenly I had my foot in my mouth. Next thing you know I was playing it in the clubs and it picked up like WILDFIRE. It's only a matter of time before someone BIG jumps on the official remix. So yeah… OOPS.
Oh yeah… she's pretty hot too.
Check out another dope track: Cassie – Just Friends
She's going to do very well with the production power and guidance of Ryan Leslie… one of my favorite producers right now. Who is Ryan Leslie? He's a Harvard grad with an already impressive resume of production credits and a great voice to boot. It more than makes up for his girlish name. Kidding. To read more on him… check out his website here. Oh yeah… did I mention that he produced "Me and U"? Crazy ridiculous. He's on the fast track to becoming the Kanye West of R&B… or the new generation R Kelly… minus the peeing on underaged girls part.
Here's a few tracks by Ryan Leslie:
Ryan Leslie & Fabolous – Used 2 Be
Ryan Leslie – The Way That U Move Girl
Ok… that was fun. I'll be back soon. Summer's here and everybody's trying to put out that SUMMER ANTHEM. Woooo.
